ABOUT THE ROLE

Techno is supporting construction activities on a major water infrastructure program in the Washington, DC area and is seeking an Inspector to monitor field execution and installation quality.

This role is based on-site within active project areas, where ongoing operations and construction work often overlap. The position requires close observation of contractor activities, clear documentation, and the ability to identify issues early to maintain quality and schedule.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Observe day-to-day construction activities across utility, piping, and structural scopes
  • Verify that installed work aligns with approved drawings, specifications, and material requirements
  • Monitor contractor methods, sequencing, and adherence to established procedures
  • Document field conditions, completed work, and any deviations through daily reports and logs
  • Track deficiencies and follow through on corrective actions with project teams
  • Participate in inspections related to system installation, testing, and startup activities
  • Communicate with field staff, engineers, and contractors to clarify conditions and support coordination
  • Maintain organized records to support project documentation and reporting requirements
  • Reinforce safe work practices and report observed risks or non-compliant conditions

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in construction inspection on water, wastewater, or utility infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with installation of piping systems, valves, and mechanical components
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, details, and contract specifications
  • Experience documenting field activity and supporting quality assurance processes
  • Exposure to project tracking systems such as Oracle Unifier or similar tools is beneficial
  • OSHA certification or safety training preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in active construction environments

The expected salary range for this role in the Mid-Atlantic Region is $48 - $52 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
