ABOUT THE ROLE
Techno is assembling seeking a Construction Bridge Inspector to support active transportation infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey. This position focuses on construction-phase inspection of bridge and structural work, ensuring all activities align with contract requirements, agency standards, and approved construction documents.
You will play a key role in the field, working alongside contractors, engineers, and agency stakeholders to help deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality bridge projects. This is a hands-on role suited for someone experienced in bridge construction methods and inspection processes within a public agency environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Perform field inspections of bridge construction activities, including structural components, to verify compliance with plans and specifications
- Monitor workmanship, materials, and installation methods to ensure alignment with contract requirements and quality standards
- Document daily field activity through detailed reports, including progress tracking, quantities, and photographic records
- Identify and track non-compliant work, coordinating with the Resident Engineer and project team to support resolution
- Confirm contractor adherence to safety standards, traffic control plans, and staging requirements
- Review measurements, quantities, and construction methods for accuracy and consistency with project documents
- Support coordination across contractors, engineers, and agency representatives during ongoing construction operations
QUALIFICATIONS
- NICET Level III or IV certification strongly preferred
- Proven experience performing construction inspection on bridge or structural transportation projects
- Working knowledge of bridge construction techniques, materials, and quality assurance practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for field reporting and coordination
- Experience with NJTA projects is a plus
- Familiarity with NJDOT, NJTA, and regional agency standards and inspection procedures

The expected salary range for this role in the New Jersey is $65 - $75 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
