Equanime - Senior Analyst – Equity Capital Markets (ECM)

BWGI, the wholly owned asset manager of Brasil Warrant, has formed the Equity Multi-Strategy Platform as an additional investment vertical. The Equity Multi-Strategy Platform expects to hire portfolio managers across fundamental, systematic, flow-based and event-driven equity alpha strategies. Brasil Warrant has been in existence for over 100 years, managing, operating and acting as a controlling shareholder of businesses across various industries, including financial services. BWGI provides the infrastructure, processes and capital of a large-scale institutional asset manager while, at the same time, offering duration, permanence and a long-term investment horizon.

 

About the Role

We are seeking a commercially-driven fundamental generalist to be the Senior Analyst on our Equity Capital Markets (ECM) investment team. The ideal candidate will bring ECM expertise alongside a track record of rigorous fundamental research & idea generation, across all sectors. The Senior Analyst will work closely with the Portfolio Manager and be integrally involved in all ECM investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead bottom-up fundamental research & financial modelling for ECM names, often collaborating internally with sector specialist fundamental PMs.
• Write detailed investment theses, for both internal and external consumption.
• Monitor newsflow, filings, pipeline, and ECM landscape to proactively identify where resources should be deployed.
• Regularly attend management meetings, deal roadshows, investor conferences, and the like to surface proprietary insights and cultivate corporate relationships.
• Maintain a broad network of industry relationships, including ECM bankers, syndicate desks, advisers, sponsors, and vendors.
• Collaborate closely with the PM on portfolio construction & broader ECM strategy, combining fundamental and technical forecasts.

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years of buy-side experience, ideally with hands-on exposure to an ECM strategy.
• 5+ years of total experience, including roles in research, sales, ECM, and/or syndicate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven ability to originate fundamental investment ideas.
• Familiarity with ECM mechanics & processes.
• Advanced financial modeling proficiency and comfort deploying those skills in a fast-paced event-driven environment.
• Exceptional analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear investment views.
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail, to clearly express investment views..
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an appetite to regularly take meetings with corporates and bankers.
• High integrity, professionalism, and a strong team orientation.

Must be based in or willing to relocate to New York City, with full in-office participation required
