Team Overview: The Special Projects team at Shield AI is an elite group within the office of the CTO, composed of highly experienced software engineers from diverse fields. The team influences all three pillars of Hivemind, Shield AI’s software ecosystem, which includes Hivemind Edge, Design, and Commander, focusing on strategic technology development and rapid solution deployment.

Role Description: As part of this team, you will work on integrating Hivemind components into a cohesive product, focusing on architecting and building next-generation AI interfaces that enable seamless human-AI interaction with real-time, multi-modal inputs.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop advanced AI interfaces for real-time, multi-modal interactions.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to implement streaming interfaces with continuous feedback.
• Shape user interactions with AI systems through thoughtful UI design and implementation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years developing large-scale, production-quality software.
• Proficiency in mainstream languages such as Typescript, C++, Go, Python.
• Experience with React/Node/Typescript, React Components, Git, and best practices in software engineering.
• Strong collaboration skills, adaptability, and high standards.
• Experience with real-time streaming interfaces (HTTP, WebSockets), multi-modal input handling, SPA routing, client-side state management, and SSE.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with geospatial data, WebGL, design systems, cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS), Linux, Docker, CI/CD, WebSockets, Electron, Playwright, and AI system debugging.

Compensation: $220,000 - $330,000 annually, with benefits including bonus, equity, and comprehensive packages based on experience and location.
