About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Tech Lead to oversee technical execution across our incubator’s diverse crypto portfolio, managing engineers and collaborating with the Technical Project Manager to ensure smooth project delivery. Reporting to the Founder or CTO, the Tech Lead will juggle multiple projects, provide hands-on coding expertise, architect innovative solutions, and support hiring for portfolio teams. With a strong blockchain background and experience in fintech, banking, insurtech, or AI, you will drive technical excellence while delivering clear progress updates to the executive team.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor engineers (Full Stack, Web3/Backend, Mobile) across portfolio projects, ensuring high-quality code and alignment with technical goals.
• Hands-On Coding: Actively contribute to development, writing code for blockchain integrations, backend systems, focusing on Web3 and high-throughput technologies.
• Solution Architecture: Design scalable, secure architectures for portfolio projects, integrating blockchain protocols (e.g., Ethereum, Solana), microservices, or AI pipelines as needed.
• Project Coordination: Partner with the Technical Project Manager to juggle multiple projects, aligning timelines, resources, and deliverables across payments, wallets, lending, data, AI, and asset management ventures.
• Hiring & Team Building: Collaborate with the executive team to define technical hiring needs, evaluate candidates, and build high-performing engineering teams for portfolio companies.
• Cross-Portfolio Synchronization: Ensure technical consistency and efficiency across diverse projects, resolving bottlenecks and maintaining project flow.
• Blockchain Expertise: Drive Web3-related initiatives, such as smart contract development, DeFi platforms, or wallet integrations, leveraging deep blockchain knowledge.
• Innovation & Problem Solving: Identify opportunities to incorporate emerging technologies (e.g., AI, decentralized systems) to enhance portfolio outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 8+ years in software engineering, with 4+ years in a technical leadership or lead engineer role. Strong blockchain experience (e.g., smart contracts, DeFi, wallet development) is preferred. Prior work in fintech, banking, insurtech, AI, or high-throughput systems is a strong plus.
• Technical Skills:
• Blockchain: Expertise in Solidity, Rust, or similar for smart contracts; familiarity with Web3 libraries (e.g., ethers.js, web3.js) and protocols (e.g., Ethereum, Solana).
• Backend: Proficiency in Node.js, Python, Go, or Rust for building scalable systems, APIs, and microservices.
• AI/Data: Experience with AI pipelines or data platforms (e.g., TensorFlow, Apache Kafka) is a plus.
• Frontend/Mobile: Basic familiarity with React/Native, Kotlin, or Swift to guide full stack and mobile engineers.
• Hands-On Coding: Proven ability to write high-quality code while balancing leadership responsibilities, particularly in Web3 or complex systems.
• Solution Architecture: Track record of designing robust, scalable architectures for blockchain, fintech, or AI-driven applications.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Experience managing small engineering teams, fostering collaboration, and mentoring junior developers.
• Multi-Project Management: Ability to juggle multiple projects, coordinating with project managers to ensure smooth delivery and consistent project flow.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills to report progress to executives, support project managers, and align technical and business stakeholders.
• Hiring Involvement: Familiarity with technical recruiting, candidate evaluation, and building diverse, high-performing teams.
