Data Engineer (Remote)

What You'll Do

You'll work across the full lifecycle of data engineering - from designing elegant solutions to deploying them in production. Your day-to-day will include:

• Building and maintaining data pipelines of varying complexity - from straightforward transformations to advanced probabilistic algorithms that drive our data science capabilities
• Designing thoughtful solutions for new challenges, with emphasis on clean architecture and maintainability
• Writing automated tests because we believe quality is built in, not bolted on
• Fixing bugs and improving existing systems - our codebase evolves constantly
• Exploring data when problems require investigation and analysis
• Contributing to backend services and internal tools that support our data infrastructure
• Deploying your work - you own it from concept to production

Our Tech Stack

• Primary: Apache Spark, Scala
• Also using: Java, Python
• Backend services: Scala, Java, Rust
• Process: Scrum and Kanban - we use what fits the work

What We're Looking For

• Strong foundation in data engineering principles and distributed systems
• Experience with Apache Spark or similar big data processing frameworks
• Proficiency in Scala and/or Java (we'll help you grow in whichever you're less familiar with)
• Solid SQL skills for data querying and analysis
• Understanding of software engineering best practices - testing, version control, code review
• Analytical mindset for data exploration and problem-solving
• Ability to balance pragmatism with technical excellence
• Fluent English - our team communicates in English daily

Nice to Have

• Experience with Python for data analysis
• Exposure to Rust
• Background in adtech or high-volume data processing
• Familiarity with probabilistic algorithms or data science concepts

Work Arrangement

This is a 100% remote position. Work from wherever you're most productive - your home office or a coworking space. We trust you to manage your time and deliver great work.

Location: Poland or nearby timezone (CET/EET) for effective collaboration with the team
