ABOUT THE ROLE
Techno is seeking a Civil/Mechanical Inspector to support ongoing infrastructure projects across the New York City metro area. This role focuses on field inspection of civil and mechanical construction activities, ensuring work is completed in accordance with contract documents, technical specifications, and agency standards.
You will be embedded on-site, working closely with project teams to monitor progress, verify quality, and support the successful delivery of critical water and public infrastructure projects. Experience supporting water systems, including reservoirs, pump stations, or related facilities, is highly valued.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Conduct field inspections of civil and mechanical construction work to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes
- Monitor installation of infrastructure systems including pipelines, pump stations, structural elements, and mechanical equipment
- Prepare daily reports documenting site activity, quantities, progress, and any issues or deviations observed
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and client representatives to address field conditions and maintain project timelines
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, and deliveries to confirm alignment with project requirements
- Support enforcement of safety standards and ensure adherence to site-specific safety protocols
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience performing construction inspection on civil and/or mechanical infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with public agency projects such as NYCDEP, MTA, or PANYNJ is preferred
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, valves, piping, and related components
- Strong documentation and communication skills with the ability to interface with multiple stakeholders
- Experience on water infrastructure projects, including reservoirs, treatment facilities, or storage systems, is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $50 - $60 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
