ABOUT THE ROLE
Techno is seeking a Manager, Comptroller to support our finance team. This role is ideal for a hands-on individual contributor who can manage day-to-day accounting operations while partnering cross-functionally with project teams and senior leadership to improve financial visibility and performance. This position will play a critical role in strengthening our financial infrastructure, with a focus on accounting, cash flow management, and lending support, while establish scalable processes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Core Accounting & Close
- Assist with general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close
- Supervise a team of accounting professionals, managers and associates
- Support preparation of accurate and timely financial statements
- Assist in establishing and maintaining internal controls and accounting procedures
Project Accounting & Operational Support
- Review project setup to ensure alignment with contract terms and revenue recognition standards
- Support WIP reporting, project profitability analysis, and labor utilization tracking
- Assist in monitoring unbilled revenue, billing accuracy, and project performance
Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Support cash flow forecasting and ongoing liquidity tracking
- Monitor accounts receivable, aging, and collections for public agency clients
- Help drive improvements in billing cycles and cash conversion
Asset-Based Lending & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and maintain borrowing base certificates and supporting documentation
- Assist with lender reporting requirements and compliance tracking
- Contribute to financial reporting packages for senior leadership
Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and variances
- Provide insights to support decision-making across projects and business units
- Help build and refine processes for project accounting, reporting, and financial tracking
- Contribute to development of SOPs and scalable workflows
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus, not required)
- 5–10+ years of relevant experience in accounting/finance
- Experience in AEC, engineering, or construction services strongly preferred
- Experience with ERP systems (Deltek preferred) and strong Excel skills
- Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally in a growing environment

The expected salary range for this role in the New Jersey is $115,000 - $150,000 per year. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
