Role Summary and Impact 

The Global Client Solutions Director, APAC drives growth and contributes to the strategic development and regional expansion of Goat with key clients based in the APAC region.
Goat is an award-winning global influencer marketing agency, part of the WPP Media network, delivering influencer-first strategy, content, and campaigns for some of the world's most iconic brands across 37 markets worldwide.

This role acts as a strategic partner to WPP Media client leadership, initially focused on a major global beauty client, expanding to a focused portfolio; helping shape and guide markets on strategic direction and key opportunities.

A critical objective for this role is to drive globally consistent growth: first, in how Goat scales the relationship with a major global beauty client across and within markets, and second, how Goat works with global priority clients based in the APAC region. The role will be heavily focused on this anchor beauty client during the first year, addressing complexities around regional stakeholder management and client-requested transformation work. This involves driving stronger standardisation across markets and BTL teams, with this anchor beauty client serving as a model to structure approaches before scaling to other global accounts.

Skills & Experience

Role Responsibilities:

Client Growth & Commercial Development:

  • Lead the strategic development and regional expansion of Goat's advocacy and creator practice with key global clients, initially focused on a major global beauty client, across the APAC region, with a clear focus on driving net sales growth and market share.
  • Act as a senior strategic advisor and consultant to regional client stakeholders, initially focusing on a major global beauty client, guiding on strategic direction and key opportunities.
  • Drive client growth through strategic initiatives including upsells, innovation, and the development of strategies and toolkits.
  • Contribute to new business development initiatives within WPP Media agencies, focused on securing new group clients and increasing volume for Goat.
  • Provide strategic direction to markets and support key regional and global pitches, including contributing to global RFP processes.
  • Drive category, capability, and market growth for priority clients and support the expansion of partnerships across additional markets or regions.
  • Build business growth plans to expand key client relationships within the APAC region.

Commercial Ownership & Operational Alignment:

  • Drive global consistency in scaling the relationship with the anchor beauty client and across APAC markets, ensuring a clear and accurate proposition and maintaining adherence to globally agreed commercial and operational models.
  • Drive stronger standardisation across markets and BTL teams, ensuring local markets adhere to established commercial agreements and prevent unwanted precedents. The anchor beauty client will serve as a model to structure approaches before broader application.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial ownership with a clear view of commercial potential and the necessary steps to maximise it across key clients and the wider client community.
  • Manage regional stakeholder engagement and transformation work, particularly for large, complex global clients such as those in the beauty industry.

Solution Leadership & Enablement:

  • Provide leadership and oversight through influence to internal teams focused on growing relationships with clients, including aspects of account management and campaign delivery.
  • Oversee account management and delivery relationships for key clients, acting as a point of escalation, advice, and troubleshooting to ensure client satisfaction and scalability.
  • Educate WPP Media agencies and internal teams on Goat's capabilities, best practices, and new opportunities to foster growth.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:

  • Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with regional client leadership, local market leads, key internal stakeholders across Goat, and WPP Media colleagues, facilitating collaboration and clear communication across the APAC region.
  • Navigate the WPP agency network to support new opportunities and address potential challenges for key clients, leveraging relationships with agencies, clients, and internal network connections within APAC.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior stakeholders, understanding their needs and positioning Goat's solutions effectively.

Role Requirements:

  • Senior Client Leadership & New Business Experience: Proven senior-level experience in client leadership, new business development, sales, or agency relationship management, with a focus on driving growth and expansion within a large agency network (ideally WPP).
  • Strategic & Consulting Mindset: Demonstrates a senior strategic approach with a strong consulting mindset and the ability to shape client strategy and provide specialist consultancy.
  • Influencer Marketing Expertise: Strong understanding of the creator, influencer, and advocacy ecosystem, particularly within the APAC market.
  • Regional Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the APAC media, marketing, and client landscape, and an understanding of agency operations and dynamics within the WPP network in the region.
  • Commercial Acumen: Track record of Net Sales maximization, growing high-value accounts and achieving strategic client growth, coupled with strong commercial negotiation skills.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively across complex regional organisations.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyse complex client challenges and propose scalable solutions that contribute to business objectives.
  • Proactive & Self-Directed: Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and deliver results within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • WPP Ecosystem Navigation: Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate the WPP agency network to unlock new opportunities and overcome challenges.

Provides solution leadership by guiding account management and campaign delivery functions to ensure effective client relationship growth and operational excellence, even without direct reporting lines.
  • Negotiation & Problem-Solving: Strong commercial negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead complex conversations, identify operational challenges, and drive desired outcomes for clients.
  • Organisational & Project Management: Organised with attention to detail, capable of managing multiple complex client programmes concurrently and adept at identifying, analysing, and solving operational challenges.
  • Global & Local Perspective: Ability to translate global objectives into effective local market strategies and execution plans, balancing global consistency with regional relevance.
