Job description

Join Axon and be a Force for Good.

At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.

Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your Impact

As the Product Intel Program Manager for Counter-UAS at Dedrone, you will be the team's deep domain expert in the rapidly evolving counter-drone landscape. You will drive test and evaluation of all Dedrone systems, research current and emerging threat vectors, and serve as the strategic subject matter expert behind cross-system product decisions. Counter-UAS is a niche domain where threats shift constantly — new drone protocols, evolving evasion tactics, Group 3+ UAS, swarm tactics, and fragmented global regulations — and you will ensure the product team stays ahead of all of it. This role offers a rare opportunity to shape product strategy at the intersection of defense technology and commercial innovation, with direct influence on how hundreds of critical sites worldwide are protected.

What You'll Do

Location: This role is based out of our Sterling, VA office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. We believe that connection fuels innovation, and our in-office culture is designed to foster meaningful teamwork, mentorship, and shared success.
Reports to: Director, 3P Strategy & Integrations

  • Test & Evaluation Leadership: Plan, coordinate, and lead test and evaluation activities across Dedrone's full product portfolio — RF sensors, radars, cameras, electronic warfare systems, kinetic defeat solutions, and integrated deployment configurations. Define evaluation criteria, test protocols, and acceptance benchmarks that reflect real-world operational conditions.
  • Threat Intelligence & Research: Continuously monitor and analyze the evolving UAS threat landscape including new commercial drone protocols, Group 3+ UAS capabilities, swarm tactics, spoofing and evasion techniques, and emerging adversarial technologies. Translate threat intelligence into actionable product requirements and prioritization guidance.
  • Strategic Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the go-to counter-UAS domain expert for the product organization. Advise product managers, engineering teams, and leadership on technology tradeoffs, competitive positioning, and capability gaps based on deep understanding of the operational environment.
  • Cross-System Product Guidance: Provide expert input on decisions that span multiple product lines — sensor fusion strategies, detection-versus-defeat tradeoffs, deployment configuration optimization, and integration architecture. Ensure product decisions account for the full threat picture and operational context.
  • Competitive & Market Analysis: Track competitor capabilities, new market entrants, government program developments, and industry trends in the counter-UAS and broader defense technology space. Deliver actionable intelligence that informs roadmap priorities and go-to-market positioning.
  • Customer & Field Engagement: Partner with sales, solutions engineering, and customer success teams to support technical evaluations, demonstrations, and customer engagements. Provide the deep counter-UAS expertise that bridges product capability to customer mission requirements.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in counter-UAS, electronic warfare, air defense, or closely related defense technology domains.
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (current).
  • Experience completing and/or leading red teaming exercises against counter-UAS systems or protected sites.
  • Deep technical understanding of UAS detection technologies including RF-based detection, radar, electro-optical/infrared sensors, and sensor fusion approaches.
  • Experience planning and executing test and evaluation programs for defense or security technology systems.
  • Familiarity with current UAS threat vectors, commercial drone protocols, and the evolving adversarial landscape.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical and operational concepts into clear product guidance for cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work effectively with product management, engineering, sales, and customer teams in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with electronic warfare, RF jamming, or kinetic defeat systems for counter-UAS applications.
  • Background in military or government counter-UAS programs (DOD, DHS, FAA, or allied nation equivalents).
  • Understanding of ITAR, EAR, and international regulatory frameworks that govern counter-UAS technology.
  • Experience with drone flight operations, drone testing, or drone-related research.
  • Familiarity with command and control (C2) systems, situational awareness platforms, or sensor management software.
  • Existing, prior, or ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance.

Benefits that Benefit You

  • Competitive salary and 401k with employer match
  • Discretionary paid time off
  • Paid parental leave for all
  • Medical, Dental, Vision plans
  • Fitness Programs
  • Emotional & Mental Wellness support
  • Learning & Development programs
  • And yes, we have snacks in our offices
