Overview

Vertiv is seeking an experienced Site Manager to work with the Vertiv Program/Project team to oversee site work for key accounts. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, experience in the construction industry, and the ability to drive activities with limited supervision. The Site Manager provides leadership and serves as the liaison between project team members to promote the interest of both the business and clients, and is the primary point of contact for Vertiv at the site.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain adherence to Vertiv’s safety standards; ensure that required documents are filed.
  • Conduct and/or participate in project meetings, drive project milestones, and contribute information for Vertiv Program Manager reporting.
  • Interface with the Client, Client’s General Contractor, supporting trades, and consultants at all project stages.
  • Coordinate project scheduling with the project team; ensure project quality control and coordinate project logistics.
  • Deliver projects in collaboration with the Client’s General Contractor and Vertiv; inspect and document shipped integrated solutions to site.
  • Collaborate with the Client’s site operations, Client’s General Contractor, supporting trades, and consultants throughout the life of the project.
  • Track, analyze, and report information to enable the Vertiv project team to manage projects and evaluate weekly reports.
  • Coordinate cross-functional departments to identify project issues, monitor action items, and work with the project manager to ensure resolution.
  • Ensure receipt of all close-out documents, including warranties, as-builts, and Operation and Maintenance manuals.
  • Coordinate with the Client’s site operations and Client’s General Contractor to ensure punch list, substantial completion, and final completion processes are completed through the onsite construction management team.
  • Work with Vertiv equipment technicians and third-party equipment technicians to assist the Client and Client’s General Contractor and Commissioning Consultant during Level 2 and 3 Equipment startup, L4 Functional Testing, and L5 Integrated Systems Testing of Power Box modules.
  • Carry oneself as a project leader and knowledge holder, facilitating the decision-making process.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a project management or construction management role with the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with sector/project-specific software systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam.
  • Mastery of reading construction drawings; ability to read, interpret, and update construction project-related drawings.
  • Ability to organize resources (people, tools, time) to meet tight deadlines and achieve results.
  • Knowledge of current market conditions including pricing conventions and trends.
  • Strong ability to manage responsibilities and prioritize tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on data centers.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including design principles, installation methods, and industry best practices; excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience collaborating with MEP subcontractors and vendors.
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and standards relevant to data center construction.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.

Education and Certifications

  • High school diploma required; a four-year degree from an accredited university with concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor; experience on mission-critical datacenter projects is a plus.
