Job description
Pratt & Whitney, a Raytheon Technologies Company, is seeking a senior Java Developer for our Digital Technology (DT) Digital Manufacturing Applications team. This remote role focuses on delivering and enhancing software solutions within Pratt & Whitney’s enterprise Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and integrating with other enterprise products.
What You Will Do
- Build and enhance Manufacturing Execution System (MES) applications used across Pratt & Whitney operations.
- Develop Java‑based microservices and React front‑end features supporting engine manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot, refine, and scale MES capabilities.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment delivering modern solutions aligned to Industry 4.0 and IIoT initiatives.
Qualifications You Must Have
- BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 10+ years of relevant work experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Java development with Spring Boot, Maven, and Hibernate.
- React.js (Redux), Node.js, ES6 JavaScript.
- REST API development and integration.
- RDBMS experience (Oracle or SQL Server).
- Docker and Kubernetes (AKS preferred).
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with VS Code, Eclipse or similar IDEs.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Understanding of MVC, JDBC, and RESTful web services.
- Skill for writing reusable Java libraries and knowledge of Java concurrency patterns.
- Sound knowledge of Object‑Oriented Programming patterns and concepts.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Azure services and Gov Cloud environments.
- Hands‑on experience with Solumina i‑Series.
- Exposure to IIoT and Industry 4.0 ecosystems.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Team player with strong follow‑up skills and ability to craft positive relationships.
- Detail oriented, analytical, and able to trace problems.
- Relishes orchestrating and organizing initiatives and processes.
- Excellent judgment and professional business maturity.
Remote Role Type
This position is fully remote. Employees will work primarily offsite from home, however customer meetings may occur outside normal business hours due to differing time zones.
Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this role is $132,400 – $251,600 USD, with compensation determined by role, function, experience, education and key skills. Eligible employees may also receive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, and paid time off, as well as short‑ and long‑term incentive compensation programs where applicable.
