Senior Java FSD - Remote

About the role

We’re seeking a hands‑on Senior Java Full Stack Developer who will design, develop, and support scalable, secure, and high‑performance enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and modern UI frameworks (Angular). The role requires strong backend engineering depth, solid frontend exposure, cloud‑native development experience, and adherence to Agile and DevOps practices.

In this role, you will:

• Design and develop Java‑based backend services using Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Microservices architecture.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs / event‑driven services using Kafka / ActiveMQ / JMS.
• Develop responsive UI components using Angular (v12+), HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript.
• Implement database design and optimization using PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, and ORM frameworks (JPA/Hibernate).
• Apply secure coding practices, including OAuth2, JWT, RBAC, and API security standards.
• Enable CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins / GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps and support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, perform code reviews, mentor junior developers, and ensure engineering best practices.
• Provide production support, performance tuning, and root‑cause analysis for critical applications.

Work model

These will help you stand out

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.

Salary and compensation

The annual salary for this position will be between $61,000 to $125,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
