Advanced Quality Engineer | Hudsonville, MI
Salary Range: $87,000 – $128,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Hudsonville that are seeking skilled Advanced Quality Engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, including FMEAs, Control Plans, and PPAPs, for new product introductions.
- Drive complex root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using methodologies like 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone diagrams.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other statistical tools to monitor process capability, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage and resolve customer quality complaints, ensuring timely communication and effective containment/corrective actions.
- Conduct internal and external quality system audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering teams to integrate quality requirements into product design and manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship on quality tools and methodologies to production teams and junior engineers.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge and practical application of core quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, SPC, MSA, 8D problem-solving).
- Demonstrated experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and problem-solving techniques, with Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, metrology, and GD&T principles.
Bonus Qualifications
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
- Experience with advanced statistical analysis software (e.g., JMP, R, Python)
- Lean Certification or demonstrated experience leading Lean manufacturing initiatives
- Experience implementing or managing Quality Management System (QMS) software solutions
