Location: FULL-TIME REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA)

This is an opportunity to join an industry-leading renewable energy venture with strong private equity backing focused on developing, executing, and operating utility-scale energy storage projects.

They are at the forefront of the industry, having accumulated over 9GW of projects in a short period, and are currently expanding, including adding a Sr. Network Engineer to the Asset Management Team.

This is a critical role that will shape the Asset Management strategy in Operational Technology (OT), Network Engineering, Telecommunication Systems, and Automated Control Systems across the portfolio. It involves hands-on development of network and communication control system architecture for innovative renewable energy projects involving battery storage, integrated with a proprietary data-driven decision platform.

The company is committed to expanding renewable infrastructure for the grid and offers comprehensive compensation packages, including a competitive salary, annual bonus, open PTO, flexible hours, benefits, and transparency from leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an SME for network management, control center design, telecommunication engineering, and OT.
  • Own control systems architecture, integrations, algorithms, network models, and conceptual designs per ISO/RTO standards.
  • Design and configure LANs and WANs, including hardware like firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless tech.
  • Lead installation and integration of fiber optics, Ethernet, servers, and related hardware/software to secure control networks.
  • Manage OT network performance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and oversee third-party contractors.
  • Assess grid-tied inverter hardware/software solutions, including plant commissioning and construction.
  • Drive cybersecurity, system recovery, backup, and audit processes across assets.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including developers, regulators, ISOs, and internal teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or related, focusing on Electrical, Power Control Systems, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, IC&E, or Automation.
  • Experience in OT network commissioning, site reviews, and project execution.
  • Ability to provide technical assessments of inverter hardware/software solutions.
  • Experience defining telecommunication operational scopes, conceptual design, and technical requirements.
  • Proficiency with network performance diagnostics and tools like Wireshark and NMAP.
  • Knowledge of network security measures, including firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco).
  • Understanding communication protocols: Modbus, DNP3, TCP/IP.
  • Strong cybersecurity knowledge aligned with NERC/CIP and NIST standards.
  • Ability to design and maintain complex LAN/WAN systems.
  • Expertise in TCP/IP services, firewall management, IP routing, VLANs, and fiber optics.
  • Preferably familiar with OT software/hardware (e.g., Ignition, PLC, RTU).
  • Basic scripting skills in batch and shell languages.

*The application deadline is 75 days from the posting date.
