As we expand into new markets and partnerships, Techno is positioned to lead the next generation of infrastructure development. Backed by deep technical expertise, a commitment to Total Quality Management, and a growing footprint that now includes offices in New York City, Princeton, Massachusetts, D.C., and Baltimore, we remain focused on delivering excellence, building lasting partnerships, and shaping resilient communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Techno is hiring an Office Engineer to support a large-scale infrastructure program focused on pedestrian accessibility improvements across New York City. This role plays a key part in coordinating construction documentation, supporting field operations, and helping ensure projects are delivered in compliance with design standards and regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with the Resident Engineer, inspectors, and project teams to manage project records, track progress, and support day-to-day coordination across active construction sites. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced public infrastructure environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Maintain and organize project documentation including submittals, RFIs, drawings, and contract records
  • Review and process contractor submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and design revisions
  • Track construction progress, installed quantities, and schedule updates to support reporting
  • Assist with change management, cost tracking, and project controls documentation
  • Support ADA and accessibility compliance tracking throughout construction activities
  • Document field conditions, coordination items, and construction updates from the field team
  • Prepare meeting minutes, action logs, and follow-ups from coordination meetings
  • Coordinate communication between field staff, contractors, engineers, and project leadership
  • Provide administrative and technical support to the Resident Engineer and project management team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience supporting civil, transportation, or infrastructure construction projects
  • Familiarity with ADA accessibility requirements for sidewalks, curb ramps, and pedestrian infrastructure
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Experience with document control systems and project management platforms
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience on New York City public works projects strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with NYCDDC standards, processes, or project environments is a plus
