With decades of experience delivering high-impact projects in water/wastewater, transportation, and public works, we partner with major agencies like NYCDDC, NYCDEP, and the Port Authority of NY & NJ to bring complex initiatives to life. As we expand into new markets and partnerships, Techno is positioned to lead the next generation of infrastructure development. Backed by deep technical expertise, a commitment to Total Quality Management, and a growing footprint that now includes offices in New York City, Princeton, Massachusetts, D.C., and Baltimore, we remain focused on delivering excellence, building lasting partnerships, and shaping resilient communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to support a major waterfront infrastructure reconstruction program in New York City. This role will lead construction-phase oversight for structural rehabilitation and marine work along a high-visibility public access corridor.

You will serve as the primary field representative, responsible for managing day-to-day construction activities, coordinating across contractors and stakeholders, and ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with contract requirements. This position is well suited for someone with strong experience in marine and structural construction within a public-sector environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Oversee daily field operations and manage inspection staff across active construction work zones
  • Monitor contractor performance, schedule adherence, and compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements
  • Coordinate marine and structural construction activities including pier rehabilitation, structural repairs, and waterfront improvements
  • Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and change orders for technical accuracy and contract alignment
  • Maintain project records including daily reports, progress tracking, and field documentation
  • Lead coordination meetings with contractors, design teams, and agency stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental regulations
  • Support project controls, including cost tracking, schedule updates, and progress verification

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Minimum 5 years of Resident Engineering or construction management experience
  • Experience with structural engineering and marine construction projects
  • Experience overseeing public-sector infrastructure construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction documentation, scheduling, and inspection practices
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills
  • Previous experience working on projects with NYCEDC, NYC Parks, NYCDDC, or similar agencies strongly preferred

Join us as we redefine excellence in engineering and construction management, shaping tomorrow's infrastructure landscape with innovation and precision. As a trusted leader in engineering and construction management, we take immense pride in our role as a driving force within the industry. At Techno, we're not just building projects; we are the visionaries of tomorrow's infrastructure. Join our team and be a part of the transformative journey towards sustainable, resilient, and efficient infrastructure solutions.

We offer not only a competitive salary but also a robust benefits package including enrollment in our 401(k)-retirement savings plan, comprehensive dental, health, and vision insurance coverage, as well as life insurance. Furthermore, employees are eligible for paid time off and the opportunity to earn bonus incentives.

Techno ensures that all applicants are considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or disability status.

Furthermore, we believe in each person's potential, and we are committed to developing an environment where everyone can thrive. We'll actively support you in realizing your full potential and achieving your goals.

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $90 - $115 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
