This role will focus on coordinating and overseeing engineering design efforts for a complex, high-visibility transit system serving one of the region’s busiest airport hubs.
You will play a key role in managing multidisciplinary design coordination, leading design reviews, and ensuring deliverables meet technical, regulatory, and project requirements. This position is well suited for someone with strong experience in design management who can work across engineering teams to drive quality, constructability, and schedule alignment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Serve as a liaison between engineering teams, project managers, consultants, and client stakeholders
- Review design packages across disciplines (civil, structural, systems) for compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements
- Facilitate design coordination meetings, technical reviews, and cross-functional workshops
- Identify design conflicts, constructability challenges, and project risks, and support resolution efforts
- Provide clear technical feedback to support design progression and decision-making
- Track design schedules, deliverables, and milestones to maintain alignment with project timelines
- Support integration between design, construction, and operational requirements
- Assist with project reporting, documentation, and stakeholder communication
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience in engineering, construction, or design management, with a focus on design coordination or review
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Experience supporting transportation, aviation, rail, or large infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles and constructability considerations
- Experience working in design-build or alternative delivery environments is a plus
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required
- Prior experience with Port Authority, transit agencies, or public-sector clients is highly desirable
- Strong communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams
